E-commerce Shopping Surges Above Expectations in the First 24 Days of the Holiday Season in the U.S.
According to Adobe (NASDAQ: ADBE), e-commerce holiday shopping from November 1 to New Year's has outperformed expectations with an annual increase of 9.6%, surpassing the projected 8.4%. The company noted that this shift is occurring across categories, moving from electronics and personal care toward toys, sporting goods, appliances, and tools, with electronics sales increasing by 11.4% in the first 24 days of the month compared to 2023.
Spending during "Cyber Week" (the five days following Thanksgiving) is expected to rise by 7% year-on-year, reaching $40.6 billion. According to the company's research, the highest price discounts for televisions will occur on Black Friday, the best deals for computers will be available on Saturday, and the biggest reductions on clothing will take place on Cyber Monday.
