Sabancı Holding is gaining strength in renewable energy with Enerjisa Üretim.
Sabancı Holding's (SAHOL) indirectly owned Enerjisa Enerji Üretim A.Ş. took a significant step to strengthen its leading position in the Turkish renewable energy market.
Enerjisa Üretim participated in the Wind Energy Renewable Energy Resource Area (YEKA)-2024 tender, which was organized for a total capacity of 1,200 MW in five regions, and obtained usage rights for a total of 750 MW capacity in two regions.
Enerjisa Üretim gained important rights in the YEKA 2024 tender
As a result of the tender, contracts for YEKA usage rights for a total capacity of 750 MW were signed with the approval of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, with 410 MW in Edirne and 340 MW in Balkaya. Agreements necessary for turbine supply, installation, and maintenance services were secured within the scope of these projects. The Edirne and Balkaya projects are planned to be gradually completed by the end of the fourth quarter of 2027.
Capacity increase continues within the scope of YEKA RES-2
Enerjisa Üretim continues to gradually commission the 1,000 MW installed capacity it won in previous YEKA RES-2 tenders. These investments will strengthen the company's production capacity while increasing its effectiveness in Turkey's renewable energy sector.
With the completion of ongoing projects and the commissioning of new YEKA investments, it is aimed for Enerjisa Üretim's total installed capacity to reach at least 6,250 MW by the end of 2028. This capacity increase is considered a critical step in reinforcing the company's leading position in private sector electricity generation in Turkey.
Sabancı Holding's renewable energy goals are strengthening
Accelerating renewable energy investments is among the long-term goals of Sabancı Holding's sustainable growth strategy. With the commissioning of the Edirne and Balkaya projects, it is expected that Enerjisa Üretim will increase its capacity based on renewable resources in Turkey's energy production.
With the completion of investments, Enerjisa Üretim aims to maintain its leading position in Turkey's renewable energy market and make significant contributions to energy supply security and sustainable development. It was stated in a company announcement that developments will continue to be shared with the public.
