According to Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities, Dongguan EonTec is well-positioned to benefit from the upcoming foldable iPhone. Apple's decision to use liquid metal in the hinges of the new device is expected to bring significant gains to EonTec, the sole supplier of this material. This marks the first time Apple is using liquid metal on a large scale in a major mechanical component, having previously utilized it in smaller parts like SIM ejector pins. The move aims to enhance durability, improve screen flatness, and reduce crease marks in the foldable iPhone.

By the end of 2024, EonTec is projected to ship over 10 million central shaft components made of liquid metal. As Android brands prepare to compete with Apple's forthcoming foldable iPhone, the rise of foldable smartphones is anticipated to boost the liquid metal market. The average selling price (ASP) of liquid metal per foldable iPhone is estimated to be between 70-100 RMB, potentially yielding EonTec revenues of 1.5-2 billion RMB from just the first generation of the device.
